About the PTA

The YCS PTA is here to support and strengthen our school community alongside the YCS school leadership. The YCS PTA's mission is to:

  • Support the best possible learning environment for YCS children to ensure that they all have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.  

  • Sponsor and fund educational opportunities needed to supplement existing Department of Education programs to reach an ideal learning environment.

  • Advocate the well-being of the YCS children by representing their needs to governing bodies.

  • Connect with the surrounding community to foster a positive environment to achieve the health, safety and success for all our children.

The Yorkville Community School PTA strives to be an inclusive organization with a belief in the intrinsic value of diversity. We strongly believe that by working together, we can make a difference for our school.

Welcome, from the YCS PTA Presidents

On behalf of the Yorkville Community School, it is our pleasure to welcome you.

As the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), our mission is to support the school, the staff and, most importantly, the students and communities we serve in an inclusive and positive way.

We can only do that with your support. Whether this is your first year at YCS or you’re a returning family, we hope that the school year provides additional opportunities to engage with you through meaningful volunteer opportunities and school events.

Participating in PTA activities is a wonderful way to give back to the school that works so diligently to provide for our children. The PTA sponsors many exciting events throughout the year, including our two major fundraising events: the much-anticipated Fall Festival in October and our annual Auction in the spring, as well as other events and activities throughout the school year. To assist in making these events a success, we welcome and need the participation of YCS families as volunteers.
