International Night Shout Outs!
International Night was an overwhelming success! There was tasty food, cultural inspiration, a phenomenal 18 showcase countries, an incredible Mariachi band,a photo Booth, a “Duty Free” shop, international beverages, scavenger hunt, and SO much more! Families left feeling full in their tummies, and in their hearts! This never would have happened without the dedicated and hard working YCS families who made it unforgettable. Chaired by Malee Sebag with the impressive “I”-Team of Marina Berisha, Sarah McCash, and Kaena Clark, who set up decorations and 3rd grade projects to make the theme come to life; Amanda Wells and Nancy Mark worked tirelessly on the unique personalized children’s passports and facilitated many moving parts; Sarina Appel and her talented mic duties helped facilitate the crowd. We’d like to especially thank our 18 showcase families: Jiminez: Spain & Columbia, Schiffer and Costa: Brazil, Duarte: Cuba, Valencia and Hernandez: Mexico, Hauser: Switzerland, Storm-Greenstein and Neary-Grady and Brannigan: Ireland Martin-Porter and Katz: England, Pavageau: France, Berisha and Bytqi: Kosovo, Biondi and Gardner: Israel, Abdel Qader: Egypt,Tabo: Ethiopia, Ali: Pakistan, Ghosh-Witherspoon and Aggarwal: India, Wahyd: Maldives, McCash and Castillo: Phillippines and Maeda and Rhori: Japan. Each table was nothing short of incredible! Big thanks also to the over two dozen families who brought in dishes for our fantastic and abundant World Buffet table – every dish was amazing! A SPECIAL shout out to Carla Valencia and family for sponsoring the talented Mariachi Band which made the night even more spectacular! And to our committed team of volunteers: David Sebag, Rebecca and Paul Ashley and Ahmad Abdel Qader, who rocked the West Lobby; Caroline Greene, Julia Trujillo Miras Costa, Debbie and Derrick Pierce, Jasmine Zangi, Ruth Berghammer, Alison & Ian Dow, Sheree Murphy, Serena Knappes, Marianna Vayner all helped the night run smoothly!
