As parents begin the planning process for the upcoming school year, please note two key items:

  1. School Supply Kits: Please CLICK HERE to see the school supplies that each child is expected to bring to their classroom during the first week of school. For those families that purchased kits from Schoolkidz, your child’s supply kits will be delivered to their classroom(s).
  2. Medical Administration Forms:  Please CLICK HERE to review the Provision Of Medications/Section 504 Accommodations for Students In New York City Public Schools.

YCS Selected As DOE Showcase School for 2016-17

For the second year in a row, YCS has been named a DOE Showcase School!  The selection recognizes the excellence demonstrated by the entire YCS Community, including teachers, staff, administration, parents and partners.

From the DOE website: “The Showcase Schools program was launched by Chancellor Carmen Fariña in 2014, who believes that “collaboration, not competition” is the key to school improvement. With the support of the Office of Interschool Collaborative Learning, Showcase Schools each host three visits where visitors will learn about specific practices, the conditions that contribute to their growth and sustainability, and the story of how they came to be. There are currently 26 schools participating in Showcase for the 2015-2016 school year.”


Toast of the Town Auction a Big Success

YCS Spring Auction: Saturday May 14th

ToTT_1This Saturday (May 14th) is the YCS Spring Auction: the biggest YCS PTA fund raising event of the calendar year… and also the biggest Party! This year’s theme is “Toast of The Town,” highlighting our recognition as a NYC DOE Showcase School and the role YCS plays in our community.

6:00 pm – Doors open, music, cocktails, silent auction etc.
7:00 pm – Dinner Tent Opens
8:45pm – Special Champagne Toast, Guest Speakers and Live Auction Begins
10:20 pm – 50/50 Raffle Drawing
11:00 pm – The End
