REMINDER

The next general PTA meeting (where nominations will be held for next year’s Executive Board) will be Tuesday, May 21, after drop-off. Other items on the agenda include the presentation of next year’s budget and an update on the new middle school on top of P.S. 158 which will be opening in the fall.

Thanks for your support!

Thank You!

auctionlogofinalThe Fourth Annual PTA Spring Auction and Disco Party was a huge success.  Parents and the community turned out in numbers with their dancing shoes and bell bottoms to pack the room with excitement and help support our school.  The cafeteria was transformed to Studio 151 and looked absolutely incredible.  With wonderful items to bid on, great food and disco music, the auction lived up to all its hype and expectations.

Of course, the auction could not have been a success without the participation of so many parents, underwriters, and donors.  We want to extend a special thank you to the event co-chairs Megan Antonelli and Ellen O’Connell and the many incredible volunteers on the Auction Committee who worked tirelessly to plan this year’s event.  Also a special thank you to Samantha, Martin, our wonderful teachers and staff who provided those wonderful teachers experiences, and those family underwriters, sponsors and donors, and last but certainly not least – the bidders!

Thanks to the hard work, dedication and generosity of so many, this year we raised over $50,000 after expenses which will help fund the wonderful enrichment programs which benefit all of the children at the Yorkville Community School.  From music and movement to chess and architecture, each program complements and supplements the core curriculum and allows children to gain new skills in important areas that are vital for future success in school and life.

Thank you everyone for their role in helping to make this year’s event a true Celebration.
