With the generous support for the YCS community and tireless commitment from many volunteers, this year’s YCS spring auction generated more money for the school than any other auction. This year’s theme was, “Enchantment Under the Sea”, and the cafeteria was transformed into a magical underwater kingdom, filled with student’s art work. Local politicians showed their support by attending and telling the audience that,”YCS is the school other schools want to be.” Attendees enjoyed food and drink donated by local restaurants as they party until the lights came on. A great time had by all!
The YCS Auction is the single largest fundraising event of the year and funds in-class enrichment programs, classroom supplies, library books, lunch aides, and recess help.
More than a great fundraiser, this event is also a great party with food from local restaurants, refreshments, both a silent and a live auction all taking place in the “cafetorium”, transformed to support our theme of Enhancement Under the Sea.

In addition to being selected as an NYC DOE Showcase School for the second year in a row, YCS also received an excellent NYC 2015-16 School Quality Snapshot report from the DOE. Please CLICK HERE to read the entire report (also attached). Our strong rating is based on the strength of our teachers, administrators and staff and our students excellent test scores, which showed a 20% improvement over the previous year’s State Test results. Way to go YCS!
