YCS Fall Festival: October 28th

Yorkville’s most popular block party, the YCS Fall Festival, will happen on October 28th from 11 AM – 3 PM, on East 88th Street between 1st and York (right in front of YCS). Activities include inflatables, carnival games, arts & crafts and a student designed life-sized maze! There will be grilled burgers, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and lots of other sweet treats. All proceeds benefit the YCS PTA, and support enrichment and other important programs for YCS students. It takes a village to make this event a success, so please consider volunteering. If you would like to help out, please visit our SignUp Genius and sign-up to volunteer or email our event chair Victoria Brannigan.  Families interested in underwriting specific aspects of the Fall Festival can download, complete and send our YCS FALL FESTIVAL 2017 Underwriting form and submit it with payment in you child’s backpack.

“Enchantment Under the Sea” Auction a Great Success

With the generous support for the YCS community and tireless commitment from many volunteers, this year’s YCS spring auction generated more money for the school than any other auction.  This year’s theme was, “Enchantment Under the Sea”, and the cafeteria was transformed into a magical underwater kingdom, filled with student’s art work.  Local politicians showed their support by attending and telling the audience that,”YCS is the school other schools want to be.”  Attendees enjoyed food and drink donated by local restaurants as they party until the lights came on.  A great time had by all!
