UES District 2 Public School Art Show Reception Tuesday March 6th @ 5:30pm

See your child’s art on the walls at Sotheby’s! Join us at the renowned auction house, Sotheby’s, to see hundreds of pieces of art from nearly a dozen public schools in the district for the annual art show.  Reception will be from 5:30 – 7:30pm at Sotheby’s (1334 York Avenue @72nd).
YCS to Participate in the National School Walkout Against Gun Violence, 3/14 
The YCS PTA will participate in the National School walk out with a Parent and Community event, which will not include the students. We invite all parents, neighbors and friends to join in front of YCS on Wednesday the 14th at 10am to demand Congress pass legislation to keep us safe from gun violence in our schools, on our streets and in our homes and places of worship. The walk-out will last 17 minutes, one for each victim of the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Feel free to bring posters and signs and wear orange if you can. Registration is open for the Club Wingspan Half-Day Program on Thursday, March 15th!
Wingspan will be taking YCS students to the Museum of Natural History for the afternoon of 11/15. Cost is $45 for current Wingspan Families, $50 for Non-Wingspan. Students will be picked up from their classrooms at 11:30 and can be picked up at YCS between 5:00 – 6:00 PM. An afternoon snack will be provided. Unfortunately, this program is not available for Pre-K students. For more details visit the half day registration page HERE

Visit your child’s classroom right after drop off to find out more about what they are learning is school and ways you can support them at home.

Help Us Make This Year’s Auction – “The Sweetest Thing” – our Best One Yet!

The YCS Spring Auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year and is also a fantastic party! There is a lot that goes into making it a success, so we NEED YOU!

  • Ticket Sales – CLICK HERE to buy your tickets on-line today.  Also, Kate and Victoria will be selling outside school starting this week! You can also buy tickets in the PTA office, via backpacked form, or online HERE. The party is Saturday, March 24th from 7 – 11 PM, and tickets cost $75.00 per person (adults only please). We accept cash, credit card and checks. 
  • Underwriting: Help us maximize our fundraising through underwriting. CLICK HERE to underwrite online or stop by the PTA office to do it in person.
  • Volunteer.  The Sign Up Genius is coming soon! Please have a good look at it to see how you might be able to volunteer. No matter how much time you have, everything helps
  • Donations: Donations are the #1 way we drive revenue during the auction, and we will still gladly except items. Ideas include: vouchers from your local diner, nail and hair salon discounts, cinema tickets, interesting experiences (NYC or otherwise), camps, fitness packages, etc. You name it, we’ll take it!

100% of the funds raised from the auction will go directly to funding the enrichment programs that benefit all YCS students. Without your generosity, programs such as theater, music, art, chess and dance would exist in a greatly diminished state or not at all.
